North East UK - Where would you go for canvas work?

Does anyone have any experience / recommendations for getting a sprayhood made in the North East of England?
Needs to be frame as well, not just the canvas work.

I'm based near Hull, but could the boat somewhere else for a bit to get it done if it means getting a quality job.

I had seen them, and we use them for sails, but given the nature of the job I wondered if they might be a bit far away (based West coast) especially if they needed to nip down to the boat to check measurements etc.

Generally the East Coast is classed as the Thames / Orwell / Deben etc and I imagine if I asked for East coast suggestions, that's where people would send me suggestions for.

East Coast of England certainly, but your thread was headed East Coast UK. There is a difference.

I think you must have been off on the day that they did Geography.

Easily resolved by going to Hull city centre on a Saturday night and loudly asserting that Hull is in the midlands. On being released from hospital you could post your views on whether Hull is in the north or not.

I think the point some people are trying to make refers to the contrast in the "North East UK" refered to in the thread title being different to "NE of England" in the thread body.

I quite clearly describe in my post where I'm based. and if I made a mistake / miscategorised it then it was unintentional, but at the end of the day I just was looking for peoples experiences getting canvas work done in my area or near to it. And Norman clearly has no answer to the actual question, he just feels like he has to butt in anyway.

Its kind of getting quite common on the forum that when someone asks a question, people who don't know the answer feel like they have to comment anyway, so someone asking if anyone has any experience with a new Volvo Penta (made up example) has to contend with people asking why they need a new engine, what's wrong with the old one, real sailors don't use engines, etc etc.

I think your original post indicated quite clearly that you were based in Hull and were looking for a 'local' spray hood supplier.

Ignore the increasing number of forum pedants who have little to contribute .

I am based in North Wales and our local spray hood manufacturer would more than meet your needs.

He does travel some distance. But his price reflects the distance he has to travel and the quality of his bespoke canvas and cover work.

Well, pardon me for butting in, but when I saw the original heading, which clearly asked for information about the North East of the UK, I thought that I could maybe help, as I have some relevant knowledge of canvas work on the East Coast of Scotland.
Reading the actual post, it was made clear that the OP didn't actually mean the North East of the UK. He meant the North East of England. It was the OP who caused the confusion by his carelessness. There is absolutely no need or cause for his bad tempered response. I hope he can find someone in the Hull area to do the work. It's amazing how useful Google can be.
