I don't see why not - the O ring fits into a groove in the body of the pump, not the cover plate, which is flat both sides. Double the life span of the face plate!Not sure that can be done with a Johnson O ring fitted pump? Happy to be corrected.

You may even have a problem with the sea cock. Is it a gate valve built into the sail drive I know of instances where the leg inlet and valve had completely blocked due to failures within the valve, the owners solution was to fit a normal through hull inlet.Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try the seacock and then blow air back down the seacock if there's no flow and at least rule it out if nothing else
