No more synchronisation of buoy lights

Good news. They are back in sync tonight. No sign of the Irish Lights vessel over the past few days so not sure what happened.

I was told at the time that they all run on GPS clock.
That's my understanding. There's a couple of GPS synchronised PHM in the entrance to Falmouth IIRC. Too many buoys are like cooks and broth. Conwy river used to have 7 which were easily identified. There are now 15 which present a bewildering display.

Drifting a tad, does anyone know how they synchronise flashing lights at roadworks? I presume it's either timing or radio control.

I read somewhere, so it must be true, that each light is triggered by the one in front. So in a line, each one sends a signal by magic ray to the one behind; thus they can never be out of sequence. They either have to face the right way or there is some sort of priority alligorytham ette.
