no fuses between parallel batteries ?

just fitted a 125A battery fuse on the +ve of house and starter

the house one is actually a set of twin, fuse that as well ?

can recall seeing plenty of parallel setups with no fuses in between the batteries

The parallel pair should have the neg coming from one battery and the pos from the other, you only need to fuse the pos cable, close to (or at) the battery.
