New members need to build up some post history before delving into the for sale forum.
Designed to discourage professional traders and intended for regular members wanting to shift some odds and ends in their garage.

"New" members? "post history'? How 'new ' does a second-class member have to be before he can post on For Sale? I see nothing about that in the T's and C's.
I've already recieved an incredibly offensive and antagonistic reply here to an earlier post - I hadn't realised there was such a hostile heirearchy of 'old boys' on this site. Never come across anything like it elsewhere.
What does my boat and it's location have to do with access to the for sale forum?
Never mind. I'd thought to sell to like-minded people but perhaps I'm in the wrong place.

Those that have been here a while spot a pattern with some new members.
They make irrelevant posts in the boating forums then take up residence in The Lounge.
Some even express surprise that The Lounge exists ...then live there.

Then 1461 posts in 7 weeks following the posting pattern of Alant and Scotty123 who seem to disappear when the other arrives.
Very common, very transparent, often troublemakers.
Nothing to do with "old boys" but I've found the post you referred to and it did seem to follow a certain style.
Just saying.

If you are an east coast sailor then tell us what you are selling. We won't mind particularly if it's something that can't be posted. Relax.
