Was/Is the Nicholson 36 advertised in Portchester Adlard Cole's old boat? I think it was called Cohoe IV. Who was Adlard Cole anyway?

Adlard Coles was a publisher and author as well as a keen yachtsman. Obituary here.

But is it his boat? There were only 26 Nicholson 36's, or was it 28, not sure.

If it is Cohoe IV then yes. He used that name on a succession of boats. Obviously you need documentary evidence but guess a boat like that will still have its papers with it. Can' find an advert for it anywhere.

A cousin who had a 10 tonner (which was the first 'serious' boat I sailed about 1960) on the on the Hamble from the mid '30s sometimes sailed in company with Adlard Coles in Cohoe IV. It was a Nicholson 36.
