I must come clean, I was sort of hoping that someone on here might be looking for this style of boat. Most people are pretty positive about them. A quite rare boat but, blow me, here is another on the market:

Sadler 290 Sailing Yachts for sale UK, used Sadler Sailing Yachts, new Sadler yacht sales, free photo ads - Apollo Duck

A bit cheaper so that should please some. However, looking at used prices generally, I don't think 50 grand is totally out of line, you might buy an inferior spec 32 or 33 for the same money - in a similar way that I can buy mince pies at Poundland for a fraction of the price at Waitrose.

Not my style of boat if you just consider sailing, but boat buying is more complicated than that.

.
Thanks Doug for a very constructive comment , I totally agree with you.

Wonder what the typical brief is for someone buying one of these? It’s not exactly a looker so it can’t be row away factor. Although Jones is a good designer, there are plenty of boats that sail just as well.

Cheap running costs because of short LOA is surely nonsense compared to say a 32-33 footer. It would take a long time to offset the difference in the purchase price.

Based on the Welsh coast, want to dry out on hard sand, want a more modern build with no droopy headlining?
I have seen them on the water and although I wouldn’t describe them as drop-dead gorgeous I think they are quite good-looking in the modern manner, though less cute than a similar Winner that a late friend of mine owned.

It's half the price of an RM 890 which I guess is the modern equivalent.
An RM 890 is a newer boat.

This RM 880 is still a couple of years younger get than the Sadler, for similar money (approx £54000).

Ok. Its in France, and these days thanks to you-no-what it would cost you an extra 20% plus a load of hassle if you wanted to take it to the UK.

Voici une annonce intéressante que je viens de trouver sur leboncoin : https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/nautisme/2896499934

Boat for boat I know which I’d prefer (and it isn’t the Sadler).

Quite simple - it is a highly desirable boat. The nominal length is not really relevant - it is the design (and designer) and quality of build that is important. It was £85k when it was new in 2005. Top price but only around 60 were built and this one is a late one with the best spec.
Actually 2005 makes it a relatively early boat, and the Hull Number given in the details shows it to be build number 12. I have Hull Number 20 from mid 2006. And as far as I have been able to ascertain, around 43 were built by Rampart Yachts in Southampton, with another couple of boats finished off by Lauren Marine after Rampart folded in 2009.
