HW of over 5m in Portsmouth next week and very little range at neaps. I stand to be corrected but the highest I have seen this year I think.
Yes I don’t understand how that is possible. We should rename it NLAT.6.3m the highest I’ve seen here, interesting that LW is -0.2m on the highest tides; ie below LAT.
Tomorrows tide is probably the smallest range I have seen for a neap tide. So much so that our drying harbour won't dry out tomorrow.
But I have seen bigger springs. A few years back we had one where the LW went below chart datum.
They just can’t be arsed changing CD on all the charts ?Yes I don’t understand how that is possible. We should rename it NLAT.

Mid September's were marginally smaller but still very impressive

Have you noticed you hardly get much lasting benefit from one like the Dodmans, but you get stuck for hours when it's against?Sunday's tides were 'interesting'
The pay back for 10 knots SOG for about half an hour while passing Dodman's point was barely 1 knot SOG off Hurst's castle and a long old slog just for a pit stop at LYH
