Yep, but its a weak one - only down to 989mb at the eye. Lets hope it doesn't build up.
I am still concerned about Cayman Islands having lived there for 5 years. It dropped out of the news very quickly once Ivan went over Cuba but I fear it is a case of no news is bad news.
If the island has been devastated, it could well be that they simply can't transmit any TV pictures or get suitable aircraft in and out yet.

Thanks Brendan, that's really decent of you. To be honest, I have hardly had time to sit and read the paper or Google for anything this week, but you are right I could have found that out for myself.
See you en France

No probs, easy to find if you know how and where to look , and I like to disseminate ways of finding info quickly and easily as I suspect many have no idea things like google news exists.
For those reading this, if you are intererested in a news subject, Google news allows you to set search words, and anything that matches up will be emailed to you either as they occur, or as a daily digest. Very useful if you are busy.
My Daughter & Grandson got out, together with a number of other Brits, on a Cayman Airways relief flight to Miami on Thursday. Then by BA to LHR yesterday. The relief flights are limited to sick, mothers with babies. However, things are so chaotic that getting a flight was a free for all, they queued in the sun for hours to get tickets.
Her description on the events are pretty horrific. She decided to leave as the situation on GC had deteriorated with looting in daylight, poor water supply, no electricity, no fuel etc. Her house is in Southampton Gardens, Seven Mile beach, the structure is intact but the lower floor was inundated by 5' of sea water. The building the family sheltered in during the storm was a designated hurricane shelter, half the roof took off and they had to spend time in a stair well. Son-in-Law has remained to keep an eye on possessions and has to report for work on Monday.
Throughout last weekend and even after it was known that GC had been devastated the BBC news coverage has been very poor. Plenty of news on Grenada, Jamaca, Cuba and USA, but little to nothing on the British Territory !!
