Anyone know this boat, and prepared to comment either from direct experience, or from other sources? I hope to be viewing one, but information on it is sketchy. Appears to be similar to the Venturer but by a different designer, and more angular. This one has an "aerorig", but that's another issue.

Have never seen one in the flesh, just seen ads in old boat magazines. Designer Ian Proctor, there were two versions, one more of a racer, and one more of a cruiser, can't remember what the actual differences were, but the window shapes were different. Maybe one was masthead rig and one 3/4? Lifting keep version is hydraulic. They look from photos to be slim hulled, and low freeboard by modern standards, so wouldn't expect there to be much room down below. Should sail well, Ian Proctor designed the fireball and minisail dinghies, amongst other boats.

Re: no he didn\'t!

Oops! I get those two mixed up! Come to think of it, it was him who designed the Minisail as well.

Easily done. Proctor was the Wayfarer, shurely? By the way how does that Fox Terrier go?

Re: no he didn\'t!

Yes, he did design the Eclipse though, I was going to see a very cheap one that was for sale in Kent, so looked into it then. It sold before I could view it. The Foxterrier goes well, could do with a new mainsail to get the best out of her. Any comments I have seen on here have been favourable, but I must admit that I have never sailed a beamy boat before, with a lifting rudder that doesn't go down very deep when fully down, I find the luffing effect in gusts a bit disconcerting. Previous boat was a Pandora, slim hulled, and the helm was always light. I guess I have to get used to it, as I wanted a higher volume hull, this is a side effect!
