Welcome, hope you enjoy this place and get some useful advice - though given your background should probably be other way around.

Hopefully you have been watching the 'boards' for some time. If so you will already know that most of the posters here are deranged. In fact one poor sod called Mangusta was so bad he was put down earlier today. Sad Case.

You will also note that thingz like speling are very carefully monitored and it is good form to try and spell properly until about pub - kicking out time when anything goes. The only exceptions to the spelling rule are hlb and me. Him cos he's from so far North and me cos I missed out on an education.

Anywayy enough of my pointless mathering , there several hundred other idiots out there who will eant to greet you as well.

Shame about the petrol engines btw .... cue left

Welcome to the madhouse, Jon. I too am fairly new to all this and in my second month of boat ownership, so there's lots of finger druming at the mo. I see that we share a common background in the "andrew" and yes there is life afterwards providing you don't take things as seriously as those you get to work with.

Welcome aboard Jon. I too have only been around for 2/3 months but really enjoy "mixing it" with the guys (and some ladies) on this forum. Its a great source of info and at times a real laugh. However, being a Pompey based matelot, could,in itself bring untold pressure.........just make sure that your Boot Topping is straight and if the chef (sorry cook!!) has any spare "Baby's Heads" give us a shout!!!!.
