Sorry, I’m sure this question has been answered before but I can’t seem to find it. My girlfriend from California is coming to Spain in September. We have to play the Schengen game. Like many on here I suppose? We were thinking about going to Albania for winter. So here’s my question: Albania apparently doesn’t stamp passports so I understand that we have to get her passport stamped in Italy. The closest port of entry on our route is Crotone. From there it’s 150 nautical miles to Saranda where we plan to check in. My girlfriend can stay in Schengen until the 3rd of December. What happens if we get her passport stamped on the third and then there’s bad weather and we can’t leave? Or no wind? I don’t want to get in a storm or motor for 30 hours because of bureaucracy. What do people do? Please enlighten me.

Would it not make more sense to cross to Corfu, Greece at your leisure and then checkout from there? That reduces your checkout day passage from 150nm to 15nm

You are absolutely right. I thought about that too after writing that. Just have to pay one month of ETEPAI.

We checked in at Durres least year and checked out at Sarande. On both occasions the agents took our boat papers and passports. We never saw customs and our [EU] passports were not stamped.

Albania... massive OT
Memories go back to the early 80s, then a teenager, at the time getting into their territorial waters meant to be first warned with spotlights by their CG motorboats, minutes later being shot at. '84 there was the first edition of a 1000miles race Rimini-Corfu-Rimini, the farthest mark was going inside Othonoi/Fano islet so very near the Albanian border, we kept outside as we listened on the radio to Rome-Liverpool Championship final.
Once back to Rimini, everyone taking pictures of bullet marks on one boat which was shot at as it went too near their coast.

If I take my 7m boat across on the Ferry Plymouth Roscoff, and launch in Le Foleux [bottom of the canal], - who/what /where stamps etc are needed?

There was a guide on the RYA website to this, including the EU trailer requirements (lights have to attach to the trailer, not the trailed boat) and the paperwork requirements.

Boat's registration, bill of sale, trailer registration, insurance, customs declaration, travel insurance etc.

Paperwork
Entry and Exit Formalities

Anyone gone to Tunisia? Can I move freely there and anchor where I want like in the EU? Or do I need to be in a port for three months?
