And very nice they are too..

But was it just me, or was that the slowest build out possible??

I mean, Barratts put up 179 “luxury 2,3 and 4 bedroom” homes near us in less time...

Friends of ours that moor at SYH at that end have been commenting similar over the past months.

Not a time to have been taken short

It was the 0700 starts on the weekend that got to us...

I was there on Friday and we got berthed in the West harbour. Old loos. Adequate and not unnecessarily flash.

A local gave me the 5 digit code to get in. The HM issued a different number. Both worked :ambivalence:

Oh dear... One less loo, one less shower, a couple more sinks (better taps than MK1) and enough circulation space to have a barn dance... Good for the promotional brochure, less good for the users.
Only two loos in the ladies too, I gather, down from three

Yeah, I was a bit dissapinted to see the women’s is considerably smaller than the blokes.. and so much wasted space in the blokes.

If we are going to encourage more families... we need better facilities for the ladies... who inevitably are the ones who have to accompany the kids... plus of course we just need to encourage the ladies to participate...

Mind, We could host a good card game in the blokes... so it’s not all bad.

Wouldn't it be preferable to have good quality unisex facilities, like they're doing at Brighton Marina? Much better for family use too.

If you want another mother's perspective:
There are pros and cons with the new facilities at SYH. One one hand, my kids think it is marvellous that they have heated seats in the showers and love using them. On the other hand they now think all other marina facilities are a bit rubbish (because there are no heated seats).
From my perspective, the new shower blocks are great with a 6 and a 9 year old. But the loos have the tinniest doors, and I can imagine trying to get in there to help a wriggly toddler is impossible. Do they even have a baby changing table?
