The water is from home, so it's fine. The only part of the kettle that is plastic is the whistle, it tastes like it smellsAre you sure it's the kettle and not the water?
You can get rid of the plastic taste by buying a metal one.
What...it cost £4?We've had thousands of kettels, several at least, and none of them has been tainted. Throw it away and get another.
Thanks for the info... I'm just pulling you up on your spelling of kettles, I know you won't mind because you pulled me up on my spelling a while back.... revenge is sweet ?We've had thousands of kettels, several at least, and none of them has been tainted. Throw it away and get another.
Can you remove the whistle? If the plastic taste comes from that then no amount of soaking and cleaning of the rest of the kettle will help. I had assumed you were talking about an electric kettle but a metal gas one shouldn't taste of plasticThe only part of the kettle that is plastic is the whistle
Nope, a kettle for the gas hobCan you remove the whistle? If the plastic taste comes from that then no amount of soaking and cleaning of the rest of the kettle will help. I had assumed you were talking about an electric kettle but a metal gas one shouldn't taste of plastic
I would if I wasn't stuck on a boat all dayBoil up a kettle full of water.
Make strong black tea with the boiled water.
Pour the tea back into the kettle.
Leave until it cools.
Pour the tea away when it's cold.
Go to the pub.
Have a beer instead.
Wow, that's a lot and I think I've had about 5 at home in the last 50 years. I still have the previous one as an emergency spare, still looks perfect inside and out. They just seem to go on forever as our water supply is very soft. We've had thousands of kettels, several at least, and none of them has been tainted. Throw it away and get another.
