Hi
Looking for a new jacket to wear.
My wife just bought a HH one - fleece lined for warmth, waterproof outer, high collar & adjustable wrist seal - just what I wanted but it was in Purple and the wrong size ;);).
The nearest I can find is a Must Snug but its got elasticated wrists which I don't like.

Am I looking for the impossible ? as I'm not a great fan of multi layering.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I too am a fan of Decathalon's sports gear but having been browsing in-store only a couple of days ago I'm not sure they have the perfect jacket for the OP. I've been looking for something similar for years since my old musto (waterproof/fleece-lined/adjustable cuff) got too grubby to wear in public (last time I buy a white jacket....). The Musto snugs are often cheap at boat shows but aren't quite right and whenever I find something that is right it has a price tag north of £300. Here's the Decathalon web link but they don't do quite what I was after:

Bear in mind Decathlon sizing can be variable (i.e. I need bigger size labels than I want to have on my clothes!)

I work as a 'pilot' assisting boats through the canal, it is very physical (the main reason I do it) winding, pushing, heaving, walking, cycling for about 3-4 hours a really good work out. It can be very wet , sometimes hot often cold. Chosen as an inexpensive option, for the last three years I have been wearing a Decathlon jacket, middle range, it is stil completely waterproof even though it is subject to a lot of abrasion as I push the gates with my back. More importantly it is breathable, really breathable,no sweat even with the rubber internal cuffs.
It does not have a fleece lining, I have a Musto Snug and a similar Gill for going to the pub but the Decathlon is my favourite, great for hill walking, I wear it a lot of the time nowadays for sailing too. only complaint is that my favoured red colour is not that resistant to UV. and is well faded. I think they only do navy now?
However, while reasonably presentable it is a very different style of garment from the Snug or Gill, more practical than stylish.

Edit. the one I have and recommend is the Tribord 500 about £100 now, (and I see that they still do it in red}

I bought one on the strength of your review - it is indeed a superb jacket.

Actually, I'd keep looking for the HH one in a suitable colour - best jacket of the type I own.
I do, however, like the Musto Snug too - it's a bit thicker/warmer than the HH so sometimes better for colder weather
