I'm getting fed up with Moderation, does anyone know of any less moderated forums that are boat related?

I love the banter, knowledge base and humour but waiting for the next Sin Bin hiatus is nauseous.

Try Not the Lounge. Started many years ago for that reason.

Not The Lounge
Pissed myself laughing at your suggestion! The moderators in there will edit your posts so that it complies with their particular bias.
YBW Current Affairs v2 on the other hand is not moderated at all, but the boating side hasn't kicked off, yet
Edit: it can get rough in there eg the foul language

I must be very well behaved. I don't think I've ever been moderated. Not sure I see what all the fuss is about.
Agree. In near 16 years (with a 2 year break) and nearly 40k posts I have had only one communication from the moderators.

Had several.............. all of them with some justification.
Enforced time on the naughty step does have the advantage of making you get on with all the things you really should be paying attention too rather than wasting life in front of a keyboard.
Although the temptation to see how close to the wind you can sail , is sometimes irresistible ?
Its their Forum with their Mods and their Rules, if you are not happy with that.

Facebook groups have largely replaced forums, that and Reddit. Facebook tends to be more local like Solent Boating or UK cruising. Also groups for boat types, I’m a member on a generic Jeanneau group as well as a 36.2 one, the latter extremely useful for boat info. I’m also a member of a celestial nav one, nmea2k, Volvo penta etc.

My daughter thoughtfully decided that I could not possibly live without being able to access my "club" Facebook pages.
It took about a day watching a minor debate descend into a vicious unpleasant row with far reaching and long term results, for me to delete Facebook .
It resembled a public hanging, my 10 year old grandkids have better manners.
The resulting number of "alternative" Facebook groups which sprung up was legion, most one suspects consisting of two people who probably moor next to each other.

Considering that there are roughly 370k recreational sailboat salors in the UK the uptake is surprisingly low. The "views" do increase things a bit though.

That demonstrates the quality of your club, not the quality of Facebook. The groups I’m a member of are well mannered and moderated to stay on topic.

What makes a community is the frank exchange of ideas...you get to know people’s personalities and they become virtual friends and often in real life...to give up on a community that you have invested years in hurts...to start again on another platform is daunting

You left another forum because you didn't like the 'frank exchange of ideas...' make your mind up 😀
