New Fairline Squadron 53

Prices start at £733,200 excluding VAT.

To be honest, I think people will just climb over the sun pad / seating to get to the s/b side deck from the cockpit.

For £733,200 + VAT I'd want a f**king door

How did you reach that conclusion? It didn't design itself...

Okay but it was not complicated to do.
Add a bulk head, replace the galley design with a couple of beds. I think even I who have not been using my Autocad diploma will manage that in an hour.
A professional will do it in a minute.

What I mean is that the four cabin is a bonus and good thinking from them. It came as a bonus for thinking a lot of variable layouts.
Nothing is for free for the accept of this forum. But even that when you think about it is not free, electricity PC which costs you money and time which never comes back.

So thats £262,800 extra and STILL no f**king door
M, I think you're missing the point.
Deleted User is complaining about the fact that the access to the stbd walkaround from the cockpit seems restricted by the L shaped settee.
Afaik, that doesn't happen in any Ferretti.
Actually, If it weren't for Nick post on the V62, I would have sweared that it doesn't happen in any boat... :ambivalence:

Otoh, if it's the transom door between cockpit and platform that you were thinking of, yep, Ferrettis only have it on one side.
But that's not as bad as restricting the access to one walkaround from the cockpit, imho.
Though I must add that I for one very much like the double transom door (as in your P67, IIRC) :encouragement:

Had a good look at the Sunny 52 in build today (not planning a purchase just yet). I met the head designer, Charlie Braithwaite. Big ears and dark brown eyes

Ferretti have always been a one transom door boat.
Fariline used to be that way on the first Squadrons, then switch to twin on the 52, old Princesses where the same too.
I don't know I do not make much deal about it.

But anyways this is more for access to the starboard side deck. I do not think double transom doors are a big deal.

Just to add I think Absolute does this as well and it works well as you have much more space with just 1 door.
I think it looks great and you need to stand out with something different.

I just checked and Absolute 50, 52 and 56 Fly and all have free access to both side decks (bulwarks).
Or do you mean the transom door? If that yes they have one to starboard like Ferretti.

If the contents of this type of discussion gets back to Fairline in any way and helps them then great.

We've got one transom door down to the platform which works absolutely fine for us getting about on and off docks, we also have unrestricted access to both side decks from the cockpit and personally I would consider that an absolute prerequisite, especially on something 50' or above.
The rendering on this boat in the earlier posts look pretty nice to me and if they have got 4, decent, cabins into a non aft cabin 52 then well done, will be interesting to see, albeit that I haven't looked back to see what the LOA is so it might not be a 52 anyway.

Yup thats what I was complaining about and it was only a throwaway remark not intended as a major criticism of a boat which I'm sure is going to be well received by the market. Yes Ferretti do have a bit of a blind spot about transom doors being on one side only and it is sometimes an issue getting off the boat when you are moored alongside if the door is on the opposite side

Fairline do read these comments and I know they value the feedback.

Ah but it would have been only about £100k more before 23rd June;) In any case what I always say about Ferrettis is never mind the length feel the width. The 550 is a foot beamier than the Sq53 and that extra width will have a major impact on how big the boat feels on the inside and will go a long way to justifying the extra cost
