New cushions, any recommendations on the east coast

Although many slag off Jeckells (not the sail maker in this case), they did a very good and competitive job for me. Its worth getting a quotation.

Jeckells did a superb job in my aft cabin (S-curved backrest & cushion + 3 straightforward tapered berth cushions + side panels) back in 2006.

I wish I'd got them to do the saloon & forepeak a couple of years previously. This was done by an another upholsterer who came recommended by a chap in the marina so I decided to use him as he seemed 'cheap'. No comparison, he was mainly a domestic upholsterer not predominantly marine - and it shows.

The difference is many years of experience in marine trimming & it shows in the final outcome. I didn't go to Jeckells in the first instance as I thought they would be too expensive. Wrong. Their quote for the aft cabin work was way cheaper than I was expecting.

I know Peter Jeckells can be 'eccentric' in his timekeeping but all-in-all it was a pleasant experience (I've had no dealings with his son, Andrew). If I had the money I'd rip the other stuff out & have Jeckells do that (properly) as well.

(BTW this is not a dig at ECB as I have not seen her work & she does have excellent testimonials from other East Coast forumites - it's just my experience in having work done relatively recently).
