This weekend confirmed it's time for a new cooker.

Currently we have a Plastimo Neptune oven and grill, but was never overly impressed. Any ideas for a replacement of a similar size?

Cookers

Hello, we too went for the Spinflo Nelson, it came with gimbals and panclamps included which some makes dont. Mind you it still cost more than the full size SMEG in our kitchen!
Anyway it seems to be a good cooker that even the skipper can make his crew a cuppa on.
Cheers, Chris W.

I put a Spinflo Nelson in 2 years ago to replace Flavel Vanessa. Excellent bit of kit. Had a lot of use with no problems other than the grill being a little slower than I would like. Basically a drop in replacement as well.

New Plastimo?

I think there is a new replacement for the Neptiune 2500 out now- the 4500? Haven't seen it in the flesh, but reports are that it is a much improved version and certainly looks a lot more robust & professional, whether that means anything. Price is roughly comparable to the Spinflo Don't know if its availability been affected by Plastimo going down the tubes tho, but it is actually made by a UK co.

Not sure I was in the "consensus".

We had a new Spinflo Nelson on our previous boat. I hated the thing for several reasons.

Loss of heat out of the back
Low quality on several parts-they corroded after 4 years.
Fiddly to clean the top
Sharp edges on some parts

We now have a Force 10 and prefer it in every way.

Thanks to all for the replies.

We now have what appears to be an excellent Spinflo Nelson.

Expertly fitted by Dave of http://www.msel.co.uk/ ....who is also known for some reason as Fred the Gas!

Great price for the cooker by going direct to him too.

all these speak of passable grills and good ovens.

what's the word on the best 2 burners and grill only?

mine works fine but it rattles for britain.
