New Cockpit Carpet S23

we ordered some of him over the winter and have only got round to fitting them. Really pleased with them, in terms of looks and quality. Also like it that the main bit came in two parts (unlike our original sealine one which was one complete carpet), as it makes access to the engine bay easier and quicker

Did they fit alright?

The templates where made to fit our boat which we didnt (and still dont) think would be a problem, however when we had some carpets/mats made to fit the cabin and tried them in another S23 they where competely different and we had to make a second set of templates for the other boat!!

yes fitted fine - the only problem, if that, was that it is a bit tight under the fridge door, and does require a hard shove to shut the the fridge door. But this will soon get easier over time.

I made my own carpets for inside my S23. Got the left-overs of when I re-carpeted my bedroom, got a rough measurement of the cabin, added 10cm on each side. Then spent an afternoon fine-cutting in the cabin. Only nuisance was hoovering up the 'mess' after which took a whole of about 10 minutes. Result was a nice carpet (to protect the original) in the cabin for about 20euro and an afternoon's work

We got a good deal in the end for the cabin carpets/mats. Two sets (two carpets per boat for tw boats) with whipped edges for £100.

The carpet shop took a sample of our carpet (which turns out to be 80% wool, great choice for a boat and makes sense why they are a cow to keep clean!!!!) and matched it as closely as possible with a fully synthetic carpet. The end result is an easy to clean set of mats that look great and are easily removed for washing when needed.

We carefully steam cleaned the original carpets before fitting the new carpets/mats over the top of them.

You have a point - my carpets look rough around the edges, which I really don't give a fiddles about, but may be worth paying for others.

I just hoovered my carpet before putting down the new one as it was clean.

The only negative thing I can see about laying down carpet over carpet is that it will 'squash' the old carpet over the season. But a good hoovering and some 'fluffing' should sort that out. Anyhow, when it comes to selling, i'd prefer to be showing a clean squashed carpet rather than a filthy one
