New boat!

None of this is making any sense .Surely only a fool would 1- leave 2x 1000 L stagnant water in while a lift is planned .
Sounds fishy to me this weight thing:).2 - a full live bait well running as well ?

How and why if the boats gonna be perched on the hard ad infinitum ?

didn’t know they had water in…as I didn’t know they where there!??

Seat bases are just 18mm marine ply. Epoxy white primer for extra protection and bit of top coat on the underside….just coz I had a bit left!

keeping in line with the other esteemed forum members serious comments, if I may add one more:
epoxy primer has no UV protection, guess cushions are going to be on permanently hence only putting top coat on the bottom of the seat?
otoh, haven't checked UV ratings on IOM so maybe also talking balls :p

Thankyou for bring some sense to this thread Vas. Yes…..cushions will be be permanent…..stapled on the underside of the bases etc..

I’m hoping within next 6 weeks.

engines wise, neutral switch to replace (still waiting for that).

Slight miss on port engine but filter bowl looks naff so water separators, primary and secondary fuel filters to replace, dose tanks up to the eye balls and fill.

Only option is Jerry cans here so going to take a while ?

Anodes, clean, polish, decals….done ??

oh…and fix forward trailer bunk brackets

is it going to be left in the water for long periods, or in out every time w/e whatever?
how big are fuel tanks? obvs petrol, cant you drive the thing on it's trailer to a nearby petrolstation and fill at the pump? or is it a matter of legality moving the thing (iirc you did mention something about the trailer)
must be 6 v. relaxed weeks, as there's not much in this list tbh

Sand hull, compound hull, polish hull, wax hull….admire hull?

plan is to keep in 4 months of the year then back on trailer. I can always launch again if there’s a weather window, time off etc..

Too big to tow on the roads.

capacities are 113 litre x 2 reserve and 900 litre main (which is empty) Petrol. I’m aiming for 700 litres. Should give a good half hours use ?

Arh , the Jerry can things a bind for those monsters .
10-20 + cans for decent trip .That’s a lot of weight to lug or cart about .

Anyhow good ho with the work sounds good .

I really don't see the point but probably that's only me. YOU are going to be INSIDE, you wont have ANY chance of looking how the hull looks unless you swim which I guess rarely do up there.
Mine after 6yrs from painting, needs a polish, cannot be arsed, just about to wash the topsides as I see them as I go to the f/b or to the bow. Hull, don't care ?

You planning on a diet of spinach Popeye? By the time you've filled up you'll just want to go home and cry yourself to sleep. Maybe you could try for deliveries if you can find a few other island yokels who bought a petrol powered diesel bunker to form a co-op.

sorry, serious there's no other option for unleaded delivery in the whole IOM?
are you even allowed to carry in your car jerry cans full of petrol?
need a two wheeler cart thing to shift them about and an el.pump (12V from the car lighter socket) to lift it up to the filler point...
shall we bet how long you're going to keep her then?
:D

You're not allowed to carry more than 10 litres at a time in the boot of your car either. I can see this will make the tears of sanding seem like tears of joy. :p

Don’t listen to ‘em Mister G! There are plenty of large capacity petrol tanks with pumps that you can find on eBay. Remember, these are the same people who say don’t get an electric car because there are no chargers?
