New boat!

I used to carry 4x20l containers of petrol when I had my last boat, albeit in the back of my truck. I’m astonished the main marina on the island doesn’t have a petrol pump…..or actually maybe not :cautious:

Imagine IOM harbours putting in facilities to make the harbours more user friendly.. not gonna happen in our lifetime ?

very true unfortunately. Imagine how popular a full tide access marina would be here….dry stack, fuel berth, proper hoist…….unless you live in Ramsey ?

They put all the gubbins for a diesel pump on the Alfred a couple of years ago, apparently can’t decide on a supplier for the fuel. Not that many on the island ffs ?

Here’s a question….which petrol will degrade slower? Premium or Super unleaded? Going to use fuel set and marine 16 as well

I used to use Shell V-Power Unleaded with 99 Octane in my cars but was told that unless the station sold lots of it it would degrade so quickly I may as well use 95 octane. Firefly625 of this parish would be the best to comment as he owns the petrol station that fills up the McLarens as they leave the factory.

Thanks MrB. I knew I could count on you for an actual answer to an actual question. It’s very rare these days ??

The bigger issue will be E10 when it comes in later this year. The premium fuels are going to stay at E5 for a few years, but they are a few pence more per litre.

My advice would be to only put in what you need, plus a bit for a safety margin. Also use a good stabilizer (one that specifically mentions ethanol fuels). The less fuel you have in the tank at the end of each trip the better. Top up again just before your next outing.

Over board Poo pump replaced. It’s a powerful thing! Pebble dashed next door boat ??

Only joking….black tank was empty so filled with fresh and all working well.

rear seat fitted using the brackets properly this time. They are plenty strong enough but I will use bolts through the transom rather than screws and I might do fold out legs as per the front seats for extra strength.

Found a huge black cover in the anchor locker too! Looks like it will cover the bow section. There’s a pop up canopy for that area too. Also found a pair of water skis and a brand new tow rope! Always nice to find free stuff.
