Well of course you're right. My boat is rubbish. It's a Chipboard Special, from Cantiere Navale Kidderminster. With Green Meanies rather than sooper dooper nuclear gas turbines that run on sea water.

Well, you are clearly wrong. Buying another stinkpot when the cost of the non-red diesel will bankrupt you in minutes. Good I say, more room for us sophisticates.

How could I have been so stupid? Humble apologies.... I have just realised the base of your success ..... my boating thread has taken 24 hours to top 60 posts whereas your NB thread has managed to get over 30 in just an hour ..... at this rate you will pass the boaty thread in just another hour ...... congratulations!

Yes, but I'm getting a new long, thin screen. Specially made in Taiwan for me. I've done a lot of research, and the narrow screens let me read just as quickly if I want to (up to 18 posts/min) but use far less power, and are more comfortable. I can slow right down to less than 3 posts/min and the sccreen actually generates electricity that I can sell back to the Grid.

If I want to, I can still read at up to 25 posts/min, but the family complains it makes them feel sick, and they miss the irony when they go to make tea.

ah, but that's where you are wrong. Fact : I have already tried it in 30 knots of wind in a small lake, and also whilst tied up to the pontoon which is actually a more severe test, somehow.

We use a Pifco geysermattic which is far more efficient than anything you may have.I've got the figures somewhere which I will post at a later date.
