You gets what you pay for
I have now heard so many horror stories about the cheaper end of the market. Its a big dilema - I own a boat built like a brick shit house, however I miss the sailing performance of the lighter wieght boats. I would charter a light weight, but I am afraid I would never buy one.
Even some of the quality end Scandanavian boats are now using Balsa samwhich below the water line to cut weight and improve performance. I think this is a disasterous form of contruction on the long term.
