I have a smallish fortress (lunch hook - even though the makers claim it's the right size for main anchor for my boat) medium size bruce -and medium size Kingston Quickset (delta derivative) both one size up on the makers recommended size. Some creeks the bruce works best, others the kingston (the kingston doesn't like to set on leaf covered bottoms - but once set is fine). In very severe conditions I have found shackling the fortess to the crown of one or the other via 20ft of half inch chain and a large swivel sets immediately and holds. They usually both come up with large lumps of Chesapeake mud on them. It's also a set up that I find easy to deploy.I am fortunate that I have a very spacious anchor locker which as well as accommodating two of the anchors also holds the main anchor chain and a spare chain and rope rode.
