A long time ago I was rafted a long way out in Weymouth, came back from town to find a clown from the raft ahead had reversed his Pioneer into my shore line, so not only cut it but made off with it !

Winesses on other boats gave me the name of the boat and the club, Parkstone in Poole, so made a point of chasing him down via the club secretary - the boat owner was quite unpleasant about returning my line but at least it showed his club what he was like; by the speed they happily gave his details I suspect he already had a reputation.

I would name the boat, but she must have changed hands long since.

good news that you've found the culprit. stuff like this really makes my blood (and other fluids) boil!

the trick is not to walk up to them and lump them before having the conversation
