navtex active aerial / vhf

Not practical I'm afraid.
Very different frequencies,
You will also undoubtedly blow the Navtex front end when you transmit on your VHF.

For Navtex use either a long wire up the backstay or the active antenna.

Steve.

In a word No!

The Navtex will be set to feed power to the active aerial which the VHF will not care for.

And the Navtex certainly will not care for 25 watts of RF up it when you press the xmit button.

Sorry

Using Navtex on a Silva S15 DSC set, I spoke to Silva who suggested trying a temporary siteing of the antennae in the bilge locker. To my amazement the installation has worked well so far, although I do have other problems with the (early) S15 set.
