Mine as well, I guess the accountants got involved and that's the outcome
Knowing what I know about the industry I imagine it's more likely an oversight. If it were about money they'd have added a subscription for the webapp (which I'd have paid!!)

The link redirects to Garmin website now. You can still view the charts there but the facility to build a route or view saved ones is gone. I have emailed the helpdesk and they say that the website has been decommissioned after Garmin purchased Navionics.

Thanks. I thought that the online charts had completely vanished, but you're right, a 'crapped up' version of them is indeed still available:

Interesting, are you saying this is not just a corporate greed? The guy I exchanged emails with suggested using boating app for which you have to pay. I don't think they realise what people were using the webapp for. I would pay too if there was subscription available. In my opinion webapp was the best and cheapest marketing tool for Navionics.

I agree. It's what led me to become a Navionics Boating App subscriber. Messing up the webapp and removing passage planning linkage between it and the Navionics Boating app has devalued their own product and removed whait was (as you say) cheap and effective marketing.

My money would be on someone doing a project to remove the standalone Navionics website (which is now gone too!) and not realising there was extra functionality on it that needed porting. If they were being greedy you can guarantee there would be a way to pay them, but there isn't. Garmin aren't as organised as you'd hope, not that that's unusual in large companies.

The real question is whether the half price renewals on any chart is still available. That would be a huge issue for many people. This was a quirk of their website as far as I know so also likely gone.

Looks like discounted upgrade cards are gone too :( That one might be corporate greed

Navico aren't very good at software (they make great hardware). My experience of the C-Map app was terrible, it lost data, crashed and was generally hard to use and lacked features. I think they only created it because Navionics were eating their lunch

The cheaper updates are still there by the looks of it
Not the same thing. That’s a subscription rather than a new card. The new cards seem to be gone and with it the ability to change region (and sell the old card on eBay!)
