Android tablet.
Latest version of Navionics installed from app store.
Valid subscription taken out last month.
Em-Trak B952 AIS transponder.

Tablet is logged on to the Em-Trak wifi.
AIS data appears on my MemoryMap navigation app but not on Navionics (with or without MemoryMap app running).
Deleted and re-installed Navionics. Still no AIS overlay.
Auto and manual routing works fine. Tidal stations and tide rates all work. All the so-called community stuff works.
Everything a valid subscription buys you works, except AIS.

Help! Anyone got any ideas?

I just had a similar issue with my phone. Turned off the network link to the internet and Navionics AIS overlay then worked.

Not sure why or how...

Maybe disable auto connect to any adjacent WiFi sources might help?

So frustrating!

Have you got the Emtrack AIS App downloaded? This will tell you what's working and the data on AIS contacts.

Re the App I just mentioned, I had to get it via a .apk file emailed from Emtrak. Maybe it now works as a normal download, it didn't a couple of years ago.

I assume you enabled AIS via settings etc on the Navionics app ?

You need to tell Navionics to use the AIS datastream in the settings.

I think you need to know the IP address of the AIS server.

I have the Emtrak app on my phone. It proves my transponder is working, as does MemoryMap on my tablet.
The problem seems solely related to the Navionics Boating app. Yes, I've enabled AIS in the app. I can't find anything AIS related in the Navionics app other than 'Display AIS Targets' in Map Options.
Going through Menu to Pair Devices takes to the tablet's settings and shows it is connected to the Emtrak WiFi.
Still stumped.

Interested in the OPs problem as I feared I might struggle connecting my Emtrak to my tablet. I use a Yakker (multiplexer) to generate the WiFi. The one thing emphasised in the Yakker instructions was avoid going into the Navionics settings, it should all be automatic. And it was. I'm not a techie but I'm just suggesting it is not Navionics but something upstream so to speak.

I also had no problems and no need for 'settings' from my NMEA2WiFi unit .. it auto connected.

To get mine to work I did:
Menu, Paired devices;
Name: Em-trak B900
Host: 192.168.2.1
Port: 5000

Its possible yours is a different ip address, should be able to check on the emtrak app

On the off chance this helps someone else. @searocket got it right, but I needed an extra step.

Menu: Paired Devices.
Name: B952_(unique alphanumeric code)
Host: 192.168.2.1
Port: 5000
Press SAVE

At this point Navionics showed the B952_etc wifi, but showing 'Disconnected' despite my tablet settings showing 'Connected'.
By disconnecting the tablet from wifi, in Settings, and reconnecting, Navionincs then showed 'Connected' and AIS data came pouring in.

What a faff. Garmin really need to make the app more user friendly.
