Can anyone tell me what this pink symbol denotes?

It is indeed as you can see from the clearly delineated areas here

I disagree that it looks like a torch. The "School" sign has a torch with a proportionately longer, pointed shape,whereas the symbol on the chart looks more like a fire in a bin. Perhaps it's a brazier and is meant to represent the word "fire".

Until post #3, I assumed it was a flare stack but since IanR has shown it isn't, does anyone know how a flare is depicted on Navionics charts,?
