Pal of mine keeps 'pushing' me to use Navionics Boating and Lakes app ... so I have downloaded and installed on my phone .... Samsung S8. All loaded up fine ... free trial allowed me to select and download chart areas to test for 15 days, (3 days for Swedish waters). Via the Charts and Upgrades - it gave me option to subscribe for whole Baltic Sea area ..... nice.
Having noted it worked well - I then downloaded onto a 10" tablet .... installed without problem - but when I try to download any chart area - it says as it should : Requesting Map but then fails with box saying : Error getting information.
I installed to another tablet ..... that does not even say requesting map ... just refuses to try.
Installed to another (I have a bunch of tablets ..... ) which also failed to download .....

I have tried all my tablets now and each has a different failure point - but all on the download function. I thought it might be Android versions - no - Navionics says they are compatible. I thought it might be that I have installed and used login on more than 1 .... no - Navionics say no limit.

But one tablet brought up another interesting factor .... when looking at subscription chart areas for it - Baltic Sea was not listed at all ....

The above is one of the main reasons I bought a new tablet and now wait its delivery.

Interested to hear of anyone else with similar problems with it ?? Particular interested to have 'private chats about its use' .....

Have you email Nav ?
All I say is we have it on many different Tabets and iPads and all works fine at the moment it's being used for inland water Netherlands the only problem in depths it's showing all types of weird depths .
is it the Norway charts your after ?

I'm willing to wait for the new tablet ... on the Samsung S8 phone - its all good ... so it has to be the old tablets I reckon.

The charts I want are the Baltic Area .... from Poland up and round to Finland / Russia ... including East Sweden. On the phone it shows download possibility complete Baltic - even northern Gulf of Bothnia .... but the tablets only western Skaggerak etc.

I have a large archive of charts and formats - so this is really only adding to the mix. But would be nice to see it work. Its unfortunate that Tablets are not served by commercial based Nav products .... nearest you get is TELChart on a PC.

Does the trial version allow multi devices? The paid version does and the charts purchased within the app available on all devices

Not sure if it still the case, but when I paid for my Navionics charts many years ago there were two different costs, one for phone and another for tablet. You can't use a phone subscription on a tablet or large screen device.
Incidentally Navionics seem to offer different payment models. I bought mine more than 10 years ago and still using it with no further payment. A friend has to pay an annual subscription for his...

It’s annual subscription now for each chart area you choose, has been for a number of years. I also think the original version which you have with no subscription changes if you update to the latest version. the app is the same for phones and tablets and supports multiple devices using the same account.

Interesting. I have version 18.0.2 which I installed on my phone in July this year. I still have full access to both the chart areas that I purchased many years ago.
If indeed these are now annual subscription only, I wonder why Navionics continues to be so popular given its limited capabilities.
I do pay for an annual SavvyNavvy subscription which gives global charts and a fully featured passage planner. Navionics app is really just a chart viewer with no integration to tides or weather for planning purposes.

Not sure then about historical purchase, i uses it primarily fir the integration to my plotter, makes it easy, live tide and weather planning is done using stuff on my pc that use’s the Navionics charts and then uploads to by app. I did use savvyNavvy but found the price for options started to climb so stop using it.
