Paper Charts?

Most navigation lecturers, RYA tutors etc will tell you that the PDA. GPS or whatever should be used as an aid to navigation, not t'other way around.

I used Maptech charts on my PDA phone, but you need to purchase both the marine charts (which have bundled basic Chartplotter software) and separate map/software bundle allowing for transfer from PC to PDA. I think some have successfully used Ozi Explorer, which is shareware.

Maptech charts & Memory Map software, full UK & Ireland charts now £95, software £35 to run them on a PDA. A bit basic but handy if you already have the PDA.
