This has recently come to my notice, H Vector Navtex Antenna - Nasa Marine Instruments.
they make great play about it enhancing NAVTEX signal in harbour but, surely, nobody uses NAVTEX in harbour. It’s value is in reception area A2 where, without satellite systems, it is your only source of MSI.
It has been suggested to me that there are many sources of R/F interference on a yacht - inverters, compressors, LED lights etc. Why do NASA not stress that use? presumably, you would need something similar on aerials for HF/SSB.
Or is satellite taking over and R/F interference is becoming irrelevant?
