Has anyone visited the NASA stand at the BS yet? Any update on availability, price, performance, etc.? Or any other comments?
NASA AIS - is it a RADAR?

I'm particularly interested in the AIS engine (as opposed to the 'radar').
For people that can not wait I'll post a do it your self recipe for AIS reception in a separate message.

1. The Radar bit in the product is there only to say that the display is radar like.
2. The product Detects And calculates a Range for vessels who carry a AIS transponder via a vhf RAdio wave so if you look at the pure definition of a radar this system is in fact a radar.
