Well i say a mystery engine i really mean its a mystery as to who stocks parts for this engine. The plate on the engine says AIFO 806 am. I take it Iveco took over or was it fiat. I did the usual google search and found nothing apart from the impeller housing available. Maybe parts are available i under a different engine number from iveco ect. Does anyone own or know these engines???

If its the impeller then there is a good chance it is made by Jabsco, Johnson or similar impeller manufacturer, unlike the rest of the engine. If so you should be able to see details on the impeller housing.

If it a freshwater cooled engine and you mean the coolant water pump, then that is another problem.

thankyou for your replies, It is a head gasket and injectors that i need at the moment. I have got the impellers, yes they are johnson and readily available. I am mostly worried that when i go to do the head gasket i may find other problems and would like to have somewhere i can get the parts from. I will give marlin Marine a call see what they can do, i think the engine may be under another number as parts are available for iveco 8060. 8061 ect ect but not an aifo 806am there must be some cross over with regards to parts that fit. more investigation needed. thankyou for the links folks..

At a pinch a head gasket can be cut from a thin sheet of copper (done it and its a pain), or better still made up bespoke by gasket suppliers using correct composite and the old gasket as template. Cheaper to get it ready made but needs must.

Good luck with it all

I've got two IVECO AIFO 8061srm33 engines in my mobo. that's straight 6 6.something litre turbocharged with 330hp.
if, as J mentions, yours are 125hp, then that type of parts may well be from the iveco light truck range. Is it straight six non turbo?

I had a 4cylinder AIFO diesel engine in a boat. It was a nightmare to get parts for (and I had a garage for 25 years)
The part I was after was one of the bearings/rollers for the cam belt.
I wanted to change the cam belt and rollers, The engine was 20+ years old. When I took the lower roller off it seemed to be the original from over 20 years before as it still has the overspray red paint from when the engine was new.
The engine was basically the same as fitted in an Iveco Van, Non Turbo, so I orderd a Van cambelt roller and it was totally different than the one on the boat, Then I ordered one for a same engine fitted to a Water Pump, another of fitted to an Iveco Generator and they were all the same and totally different that the one fitted as original equipment.
Never did find one.
(Reminds me of when I had a Diesel Forklift which had a Golf Diesel Engine, when the water pump went I bought an ordinary diesel golf water pump for £45. Totally Different had to buy one from the Fork Liftt Manufacturer at £180.
