Hello Everybody
I was always in the habit of turning over my outboard in the garden bin during periods of inactivity but in spite of that it seized about two years ago.
Oil down the bore and then careful use of a socket and bar to turn the top of the recoil mechanism?- and it turned
over. It has run perfectly in salt water four or five times since. Yesterday it was seized again and I had to row to the boat. It's in the
back garden now with more oil in the cylinder. Am worried about damaging the con rod or something else by using the
bar and socket again.I had a mild telling off by somebody who suggested that I had allowed water to run back in to the cylinder because I was too quick to lift it off the dinghy and into my car? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

I unintentionally ruined a similar 2 stroke engine by storing it too flat in a cockpit locker. I had used it to access a mooring and did not use it again after a two week cruise. Hopefully yours may just be a mild case. I then purchased a Honda 2hp 4 stroke air cooled which has served me well.
