It’s when you cut trees back say reducing the branches to three these then sprout new shoots and over the years accesablewood for firewood and keeping the tree lower.The photo shows the trees were pollared years ago and have been let go

I don't know the full story, someone said that he was a German and died of a heart attack. His anchor dragged but how did the mast break?

I've been on the case. He was anchored outside the marina as per normal. Usually Frank would come into the marina when a storm was forecast but not on this occasion, he had been dead for two weeks. The pounding on the beach somehow caused the mast foot to drop and the mast to break - that is what my source has told me, I cant picture it but have no better explanation.

Flat calm....brilliant for the rowing regatta that went on all day....the starts were quite spectacular and they rowed for miles out to sea
