So....we started with the sublime....went to the ridiculous.... and now have arrived at the farcical.
We booked the crane for Tuesday morning...the weather is perfect...spent all afternoon today inspecting the river and working out my plan of action....all ready to go tomorrow morning!
The port we are in just told us we cannot leave for a week because they are doing work to the port and it will be closed to all traffic 😳🥺☹️🤬

A bit late now, but could you have left this afternoon and anchored overnight ?

It’s a bit rough out tonight.....tomorrow morning is the calm. Although to be honest, I didn’t think of that. My new plan is seeing if we can leave early tomorrow....but I saw a workboat towing a pipe that I think went to the port to block the entry....it’s part of the harbor dredging....something that I am normally in complete agreement with.
Anyhow, I will scope the place out tomorrow at first light and then decide what to do if I have a choice

My real problem is the do or die nature of my next action.....if I can get out....but find the river is too strong to navigate....I cannot return to the port because it will be blocked for a week. So, I could end up having to look for a third port. That means I’m paying three times for each night in port

Well today has been an adventure
Early this morning I scoped out the port…it didn’t look like any work had started so we asked if we could leave and permission duly given

My original plan was to head directly to the take out place without losing my head in the river current…but by virtue of arriving early they were splashing a yacht…and I was instructed to tie up on a finger pontoon. This I didn’t want to do because the pontoons are sideways to the current and once the boat is sideways it is at the mercy of the water. Anyhow I successfully did that manoeuvre and returned to the take out place without drama

Of course the logistics don’t end there….when moving your boat from A to B…your car is still parked at A😃🤣
So a long walk on the beach followed by lunch in port A

So, after lunch, I recovered all my mooring equipment from the port (springs, chains, ropes). I’m thinking now that I have done enough for the day…this afternoon I will load all my tools into the car…and start tomorrow when I’m fresh
