My EFFFFFING view this morning. False fire alarm at our hotel... probably some T**t smoking in his/her room.

I can top that, years ago having been to the Southampton Boat show we were staying in a Premier Lodge and at sometime past midnight the fire alarm went of and the place was evacuated. Next morning the word was and confirmed by hotel staff that a family ( French apparently) had arrived on a ferry and used a disposable BBQ in their room to prepare a meal.

Largest or second largest reservoir in England ( depending on whether you measure volume or area), in the largest forest. Not a bad place for an anniversary party.

Have the midges dispersed yet. I wager that this is the worst site in England for the little bleeders. I agree its a lovely spot though.

It’s fine around the holiday park but we met some walkers who had been across the dam and they said they were really bad there.
