Poor analogy ...the level of seriousness is like a wave train. An argument trapped inside is first lifted to a serious level (e.g. Gardner engineering) and then back to the idiotic (low loaders). And of course the motion of an argument stuck in a wave train is c******r!

But Kipper is a fish so he was able to swim down to a lower level of seriousness ...and I don't think anybody has the right to laugh at him just because they are jealous how well he can swim.

Do you know David Icke personally?

I have failed to catch the wave, but has anyone suggested removing all the ballast yet?

I'm not sure if that's lifting the seriousness level or smashing it on the beach... :D

:D I think the discussion has passed beyond light-hearted.

Well its with caution I will ask...

Has any one suggested building a steel cradle jacking the boat up and lowering her on to a low loader.

Not without issues but I would suggest 3k should get it onto the low loader?

Ellie

If it gets any worse, the floods might solve your problem:

a) shut the seacocks and float her off; or

b) leave them open, let her sink and claim on the insurance.

:D

What happens when it is on the lowloader? It wouldnt get under the bridges on the way to fleetwood

I do not know clearance heights for bridges etc but does it have to be Fleetwood? Could it be Hesketh Bank? Liverpool? Hull/ Grimsby? or even somewhere in Preston without the the ground issues? just ideas..

As always I guess it just comes down to money...

Alright then, if you put a sufficiently robust steel cradle under the boat and shift her out on steel bearers over the edge of the quay until she reaches the tipping point, crane up the inside end, plenty of grease, shoot her in.

Wimp. Just take a run at it. Added bonus: rapid restoration to historically correct upper works.

Does that include the cost of the steel cradle?

It is next to the water. It just needs a ground survey paying for.

OK chaps, seriously now: Get a steel channel to sit the keel in, and another larger and longer or several, over edge of quay. Jack up and put Eliz in channel, scatter ballbearings in larger channel and slide that under. Now the vessel is mobile. Shove to and over edge of quay until tipping point is reached (channel will have to be robust enough to support the hull). Some work will be required to support the bilges during the next phase, high water spring tide, pick up inside end with small crane. Will the ten years dry fifty years old hull stand it? Is the water deep enough? You have a <£5k budget.

Well thats what i was saying a few pages back and about raising the basin level but that was ignored too! I reckon thats the cheapest way.Just some salvage steel and a welder for a day.The scrapy can have the steel back after.

Your challenge is getting the boat out again pronto if it doesn't float as well as anticipated ;)
