What did they charge to crane the transformers?
Is the ground survey still valid?

It will also change according to which crane company is used.
Since those damn great transformers were lifted 'recently' according to the FB page, the survey may be still valid, for that company.

And for that particular part of the quay.

There is no chance that part of the quay was used as Elizmor is standing where one of the cranes would have needed to be.

Looking again at the pictures in the gallery it would seem the transformers where unloaded in the boat park, but near the fuel pump.
(also, note it is not a tidal basin)

In fact, anyone know where the fuel pump is at Preston Marina? It's in the foreground in the transformer lift picture.

Found the fuel pump. This assumption is incorrect. It is the lock pit See post#610

An image after the crane had swung shore-side.

I would suggest that Swift was possibly berthed on the north wall to the left of the hard standing in this picture. So any survey would refer to that area.

By jove, you're right! In the pic of Swift there are mooring ropes leading from the bollard far right at an angle suggesting boats along the NE wall, so Swift on the North wall for sure. Street view from across the basin sees no fuel pump.

Ah No.

Correction.

The Swift was in the LOCK basin. That is where the fuel pump is. Just above the sign on the lock wall.

The crane must have been stood where the trawler yacht type boat is.

Bugger off. It's better than watching day-time TV

Nice piccies lakesailor.

I stand corrected on the tidal/alongside bit, which is bugga if anythong seriously lets go of course..

As for daytime telly. My 'ol mum used to say, ''only boring people get bored. Everyone else gets goin' on something''

I think she should contact Kevin McCloud, make a TV show out of it all . Drama, tension, uncertainty, cost overruns, will it won't it, the fragile exciting new venture.

They could call it.............Ground Designs!

Coat, hat , ( wellies) me gone.
