My first foray into the Motor Boat Forum.

“ When a yacht is in trouble ( runs aground, engine problems) what kind of boat arrives first to give assistance ?”

Once very grateful indeed for a foreign registered Dutch yacht who gave my Mobo ( petrol with outdrives) a much appreciated tow to shelter on the North Kent coast, late one evening.
Never did manage to track him down.

Did the Dutch yacht have his stinkpot on when he was towing your soapdish, or did he rely on sail power alone?

Once, in Yarmouth when they rafted up to eight deep on the piles, we returned on the dinghy to find a yacht rafted up to us (we had a 37' mobo). As we climbed aboard the skipper, with a glass of wine in his hand, said "I don't know how I'm going to tell my friends I've been rafted next to a stinkpot" "Don't worry mate" I said, "you're about as welcome as a genital rash " "Oh" he said "that's bloody funny...care for a drink?" We got on well after that, great chap.

oh gawd... not this old chestnut... launch an antagonistic post and leave. I love everyone and every boat until whoever it is acts like an arse. So probably not got much love for the OP whatever boat he has...
