I was inspired by Dominic Tarr a Kiwi sailor and all round innovator.
My vane.

Excellent work. Did you get a chance to test it on a run and/or a broad reach? These are often the most troubling points of sail for a windvane self-steering to operate well in.

Congrats Wind vanes are really fascinating devices, looking at a working one you have built yourself must be very satisfying

I am not expecting miracles on a run, but there are plenty of adjustables that should keep me busy and MAYBE steer her.
That said, as long as waves are not too bad I reckon she will steer on a broad reach.
This week end will tell.
