She was in the Menai straits last week,observed her from
Bangor pier,sad thing there was only a few people on it going both ways.

It's Dad's 70th birthday today.
He's a mechanical engineer, he tolerates sails because he knows it's the price of boating with me and he enjoys my company, I guess (or it's just handy having somebody prepared to do all the jumping around, I expect!) But every time we passed the Balmoral out in the Bristol Channel last year, he'd go all misty-eyed and take on this faraway look
When he asked our plans for this weekend, I said we'd go sailing on Sunday.
I didn't say what we'd be sailing

Brilliant, thanks for sharing that, Scholar Gypsy. We saw you (well, the lovely boat you were on) popping in and out of Ilfracombe. We were on the visitors mooring in the outer harbour yesterday. You caught us high and dry in one of your photos

I would be rather worried if you saw my boat there - Sharpness to Bristol is the extent of my ambitions so far as the Bristol Channel is concerned!
