Moving aboard?

If any of you happen to know how to attach a photos or three to these posts, and would be willing to post some photos on my behalf, could you pm me with your email address?

I will then send you a couple of photos of my boat, so some of the folks who have replied to me can see better what I am on about?

I did start to read about how to post photos on here, and after about 2 minutes of that me eyes just glazed over! Why can't they make it as easy as Yahoo?

Cheers all, Charlie.

Hello Jeff?

Thanks for the offer, but 20k is a little over my budget, even under 20k is over my budget.

Think I will be sticking with my old Nomad for now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Mind you, if anyone had a 25 / 30 foot wood or ferro Gaff Cutter that they valued at about 6k and was as sound as my Nomad I might well condider a swap! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Best, Charlie.

hi there i bought a moody 36 2 years ago sold up and am doing the med thing - i am also a chippie and my tools take up most of the locker and under the saloon bunks there is some work around but not loads and 10 to 15 euro an hour is about the norm. i think if you are on your own you will probably be ok and if you do decide to buy a bigger boat you can do it along the wayas boats are definately cheaper here than in the uk - sorry about the rushed reply the wifi here is rubish - good luck go for it

and superbly clean and tidy it looks too.

I agree with Talbot to small.

I am a chippy and there is no room for all my tools on a 32 footer

I kept some in the car and they where stolen.

You will need a store or friend ashore to look after them.

Good luck its fun.

Hi,
I just looked up "Chippy" on Wikipedia: be careful to advertise yourself as a Chippy if you have American customers:
"Speakers of British English use the term chippy as a noun meaning a "fish-and-chip shop" or a "carpenter". Speakers of American English may use the word as a pejorative term for a prostitute. "
/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

but good luck with your dream: I look forwards to hearing about it....

Americans??? What are they? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

... you'll find out soon enough if they come looking for a Chippy and asking you for services which might make you blush /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Naaaaaa! have a look at my Avatar, it aint that far away from the real me. would you really want to be asking me for "personal services"?.............. and anyway, I think I is a Chippie not a Chippy, but then, if they are all anything like that Bush character, would they know the difference? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Think maybe I had better get a bowchaser fitted, just for repelling colonials you understand?

I believe it was when the previous owner had it. We have only owned it for a month. All that wood is teak btw, every bit.

Re: Moving aboard ....... Smiffy\'s boat

Is it now? some of it looks a bit mahogonish to me? still, it's hard to tell from photos sometimes, what sort of boat is she? Where do you keep her? come on, tell all /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Moving aboard ....... Smiffy\'s boat

apart from the grog box it is all teak, and even that is teak faced ply. The pics are a bit dark and perhaps the varnish also gives the mahogany impression. That will be taken care of at some point. She is a Hardin Voyager 45, and you can see more of her here.
She is currently lying in Moss Point, Mississippi, where we bought her, but will be moving her to the US east coast in the new year, prior to crossing to the Med.
