Mottessier,Joshua

After the wreck of Joshua came Tamata. Sadly my books including my Moitessier biogaphy are in storage but a little googling suggests it was built in california and he subsequently took it to Hawaii

EDIT: Some info on Tamata here: Bernard Moitessier's Last Sailboat Tamata
EDIT2: Ironically I've realised that my copy of "Tamata and the Alliance" is at my parents' place which I was extracted from only a few days ago.
EDIT3: OK I've just found the advert you're talking about but it's *really* slow to load. That boat clearly isn't Tamata. Whether he built a boat for someone else while in Hawaii I don't know

Yes but they could be including the bowsprit and stuff on the transom, the Hull looks like the drawing, interesting,a friend is looking for a boat and found the ad....

A little point.. He did not build Joshua. It was built in a factory in the SOF, forget the name. IIRR, the owner gave it too him for the RTW.

He did help Wharram build his first ply cat in the carib, after the original rotted.

As above, I see Joshua fairly often off LR and she always has a berth at the yearly show.

The advert refers to a steel boat built by Moitessier in Hawaii which to my eye looks like the boat built for him after he lost Joshua, personally I don’t think Moitessier built a steel boat in Hawaii. And as you say he did not build Joshua either

From one small photo in the Tamata book the boat advertised certainly looks similar to Tamata, but the photo in the book is tiny and the advert photos are total rubbish. Definitely nothing whatsoever like a Joshua though.
