Most useless thing to take into a liferaft.

Outboard motor.... don't think they've thought of putting outboard motor brakets on Liferafts yet.. maybe some NUC lights perhaps??

Re: Got to be...

Well there is a photo from my stag night of me ... no, on second thoughts lets not go there.

Maybe they could be used as drogues or something.

Re: R.U.M.

Hmm!

Lets make this more scientific./forums/images/icons/wink.gif

How about a power driven vessel of less than 7m whose max speed doesn't exceed 7 knts /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

So, an all round white light with sidelights if practicable, would apply here?

However, you've probably picked up the greater than 200m of fishing nets that sank the boat in the first place, on the outboard of the now power driven raft.

So, we'll need three masthead lights to indicate that the tow length is more than 200 meters, and you'll now need side lights, a stern light, and yellow towing light above the stern light.

Now are you i) fishing or ii) towing a inconspicous, partly submerged vessel or object (the nets).

I'm guessing ii) unless you've just found that shoal of mackerel that your fishfinder didn't register before because it shorted as it sank, so you'll need lights to indicate the tow - all round white lights at forward end and after ends of net, with additional all round whites positioned between so that the distance between the lights doesn't exceed 100 meters (so that's one in the middle then isn't it?).

Better have a whole load of lights ready in that powered raft!! and scuba gear so you can affix them all.

Strewth, difficult all this safety stuff. I think I'll stay at home, and read the manuals rather than go out to sea and risk getting my lights wrong /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Re: R.U.M.

De-faced blue ensign, although I have a nasty suspicion it’s the first thing some sailors would take?

Re: R.U.M.

How do those children get into the marina? You'd think their parents would look after them, and stop them defacing ensigns! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
