Most gruesome sightings

Its not all perfect sunsets and dolphins playing in your bow wave I´ve also seen some pretty gruesome sights whilst sailing. Here are a couple.
Three years ago whilst taking a dip in the open sea I swam into a bloody great labrador-dead of course!
Last July single-handing and on a close reach I altered course a few degrees in order to avoid what appeared to be a large circular white buoy.On closer inspection it turned out to be the body of a poor chap who´d apparently committed suicide some eight days earlier.
Have you any scuttlebutt scaries to tell?

I know what an Average White Band is,but can you define an average white boat please?I´d be quite aghast if you were to consider my own plucky vessel as average.Shes a Beneteau.I believe thats a swearword in English isn´t it?

Lovely boats

Congrats on your fine taste in boats, I'm also a Bennie and know what a fine craft it is, these old codgers with even older boats are just jealous.

Some "classic" boats are pretty gruesome, too. Just because they are made of wood doesn't entitle them to be beautiful. I agree that some modern designs seem to have taken their inspiration from the Portapotti but there are some very attractive GRP boats around.

Whilst at anchor - in slack water I once pumped the toilet out whilst family were enjoying a cup of tea on deck.

Only once - never again - deep embarrasment.

woodwork squeeks....

The woodwork squeeks and out come the freaks,as they say. you´re all clearly more interested in placky v wacky than in gruesome sightingsso did you know that here in Spain the Brits are known for prefering sanding to sailing, varnishing to vanishing over the horizon etc etc?
On the very rare occasions that Iam spotted by friends whilst carrying out some maintenance work Ialways get the same ear-bending-¨Ha ju blody hinglis hall de same, halways gworking neverr sailing!Jus like with de blody cars!

Och Carlos, you're painting with an awfiw wide brush! Some of us Brits are scots and we're OK ,we would rather be sailing than sanding (or watching crossroads)! A really gruesome sight I often see is an english beer belly exposed to the sun. My perception as a foreigner in a strange land is the reason thar the englanders hate the germans so much is because they have so many similarities .. I'd be interested in your angle on that?

Excellent piccie, reminds me of the one of the guy on the WTC.

Looks like a Lynx helicopter, not sure about the bridge in the background, is it Plymouth area?
