I want to change my throttle cable on my Contessa 32 which controls a Beta BD722 engine. What information do I need to know to get a replacement cable?
I've just done this on a Bukh DV20 (Morse 33C). The outer cover of your old cable will have a Morse part number. You'll also need to measure cable length, end to end inc the articulated fitting. There are several grades of Morse cable with the higher grade having a friction reducing liner which I think is worth the extra cost, (especially if you have tight bends or longish run).
if you look on one of the ends of the cable as atated above it will have the lenth stamped on it. Also as stated above Morse 'supreme' cables are by far a better cable but you would only see a real advantage in long or bendy cable runs or of the set up uses exchangers etc.
