Hello,
is it possible to increase the sound insulation of my engine by adding more of this sound/heat insulation foam?
Will it make any difference or is it a waste of money?
Any comments appreciated. Thanks

Have you tightly sealed every possible opening and applied hatch seal tape to every hatch? Also have you insulated the air intakes with sound deflecting barriers and used insulated trunking for ducted air intakes. These are more likely to be the culprits than the thicknes of the actual acoustic material you already have.

More insulation may help. But you need to make sure that it is via the air that the noise is being transmitted. Then follow PCUK advice.

It is likely that noise is being transmitted as vibration through the hull.
Ensure you have some engine movement on the (rubber) engine mounts. Check that other connections to the engine are flexible. ie fuel lines and control cables. Of course it could transmitted via drive itself. If all those seem OK then yes maybe more sound proofing may help. or you may simply be stuck with the noise ... get or raise a sail. olewill
